Welcome to my site about Florence and Tuscany.
Purpose of this site:
- To provide tourism and travel related information to first time traveler's to Italy and the region.
- To provide students/researchers with bibliographies and information about publications (new, forthcoming and published) about Florence.
- Discussion of archaeological and art historical sites in Florence and the region.
- Literature (in Italian or otherwise) about Florence and the region.
I will try to keep the site updated weekly starting in May or June of this year, after my own trip to the area. Between now and then, posts will be sporadic as time permits (I run several sites and try to divide my time between them accordingly).
About Me:
My name is Keith, and I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the
University of Melbourne, located in Melbourne, Australia, which I received in 2003. Previously, I attended
Clark University, located in Worcester, Massachusetts (USA), double-majoring in both musicology and art history. Currently, I am in the process of working on my Master's degree in Library and Information Science. I have a devoted and keen interest into cultural history of Italy, specifically art history and musicology of the region. I also have an interest in the social history of Italy from all periods and am a regular traveler to Italy as well as Italy's rich literary heritage, mainly from the 1900's to now. I speak Italian quite well (not fluent, but almost there) and German. My native language is English.
Other sites:
I also have a site called,
Knowing Rome, which has the same purpose as this site, except the focus is on Rome and the Lazio (Latium, in English) region. A list of all the other sites that I manage and run are located in the sidebar of this blog.
How To Contact Me:
I work full-time, but I do check my email at least once a day and will try to respond to all inquiries within a day, unless I'm out of town or traveling. Please
click here to send me an email.
